Empress

The "Empress" has cruised by today at 7pm - she is one of the Pullmantur cruise ships, adapted for the Spanish market. Inaugural voyage 1990 and carries 2,000 pax. A feeble drone on the ship's horn as she came past our apartment. I checked and all the neighbours were watching as the ship was close to land. Reminded me of the time when we left Fort Lauderdale and the residents of Fisher Island condos waved sheets with the Cunard crest from their balconies. Today just cameras and binoculars ...

Greetings from Spain

I had a nice surprise to receive emails today from not one, but TWO of from my english friends living in Spain: Rona & Rick in Marbella and Lesley & Ron in Javea. Lovely to hear from both couples, and of course on a windy wet day in Dubrovnik I began reminiscing about my time in sunny Mallorca. So, rather than dig out my many photo albums of Mallorca to post a "spanish photo" here are two photos of our clean and unpolluted Adriatic Sea.

Almond Blossom ... in Spain

I was thrilled to hear from my good friends Lesley & Ron today. They sent a photo of the almond blossom flowering in Spain where they live. Beautiful colours. Lesley was my bank manager with Banco Santander in Mallorca way back in 2001 and I miss her.
