Good Evening Beautiful!

We just had to have a wonderful sunset today at 4.40pm, considering how the dawn was this morning.   To have a January day like this in the depths of winter is magical.  I just hope we have many more the same until Spring arrives.   A pleasant 14 degrees too.  What more could you want? Have a great weekend.

Autumn Sunset

Autumn is my favourite time of year especially on clear crisp days with azure blue skies during the day and gorgeous multi-coloured sunsets leading into twilight.

Sunsets galore

Previous week's sunset with heavy rain clouds on horizon
I've been "missing" for a week as home laptop connection failed since last Saturday. Back on track now. Experiencing fabulous sunsets every afternoon - this week the sky was purple. Great to have daily temps of 20 degrees too.

Autumn in Croatia

Source: Croatia Tourist Board - Slano
Source: me!
31st of October, today - going into another month tomorrow. I took some Russian clients to look at frontline properties in Slano this morning, this bay is about 30km north of Dubrovnik. The sunset from my balcony was again good (pity my photo isn't!) at 4.41pm, the days are slipping away. We don't have Halloween as such in Croatia, but I've enjoyed reading all the American blogs with their colourful photos. Must find pumpkin!

From Dawn to Dusk

Autumn is a fabulous time of year for sunrises and sunsets - with little humidity. Today has been no exception. Sunset is approx 4.45pm now, very early! I love to be on the balcony at this time, tea in hand to watch the sun dip into the Adriatic. After last Friday's deluge of rain it's great to get back to 21 deg. / 70 deg. temperatures again. Hope this lasts into November - my birthday month!

Daily views

I know some of you may have seen these shots before, but Michael, Elizabeth and Nicholas came round for dinner last night, and no sooner had they sat on the balcony, then sunset struck and the view vanished. They can trawl through the blog, but here are 3 photos of the view. Sunsets in winter are magical as the sun drops into the sea. It is too hot for me now, 30 degrees, roll on autumn (though I might regret that, when the storms arrive!).

Shooting Star

Yesterday I enjoyed drinks on the terrace of a friend living nearby. At 8pm we saw what looked like a shooting star! Bright blue sky and the sun was beginning to dip, the 'star' was bright and like a huge sparkling firework. Of course I was not camera-ready, but have found these images online. Wishing on a shooting star!

Mondays

I am tired today, as didn't sleep well last night and the birds began their dawn chorus at 5 o'clock! Actually nice to hear the chirruping birds as where we live it is silent. Will only post one today, of our affectionate mother cat, Bunny, sat on the coffee-table books at sunset. Another couple of weeks until we change our clocks for summer time.

Friday's Sunset

Although with a band of cloud on the horizon tonight, we still had a lovely sunset with a golden glow before losing the sun ... around 5.30pm. Getting later every day which is encouraging.

Sunsets in Dubrovnik

I will limit myself (this time) for sharing just a few sunsets. I have lots on another computer which I will dig out. Winter is the best time as we see the sun setting into the sea. Sunset now is about 1730 hrs. On one of the Cunard ships we used to have to tradition in Alaska of "tea on the bridge" at sunset watching out for the green flash Magical.
